DESCRIPTION:About this course\n“Be extremely subtle\, even to the point of
formlessness. Be extremely mysterious\, even to the point of soundlessness
. Thereby\, you can be the director of the opponent's fate.” - Sun Tzu\nCo
urse Overview \nAmbush assaults on Law Enforcement have risen drastically
in the last several years.&nbsp\; Ambush assaults are also related to Acti
ve Shooter incidents statistics\, which show an even more significant incr
ease in recorded incidents in the previous several years.&nbsp\; These sta
ts are even more alarming when we consider the degree of injury and the to
tal number of victims when the assailant has the advantage of choosing the
location\, terrain\, timing\, and weapon of choice for their attack.&nbsp
\; (Insert actual stats if we have them).&nbsp\;&nbsp\;\nIn our search for
continuous development of the most advanced and cutting-edge training in
law enforcement\, we encountered this increased area of assault on officer
 s. As we do with all of our training\, we went directly to the officers in
volved\, studied their incidents\, and saw a need to develop a new course
focusing on how to counter ambush-style assaults on law enforcement. Tacti
cal Counter Ambush for Wooden Terrian (8hr)&nbsp\; is the first course der
ived from our findings.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;\nThis course covers paramilitary and
law enforcement tactics for identifying\, reacting to\, countering\, enga
ging\, and defeating threats. All the modules will enhance the officer's a
bility to perceive threats\, evaluate vulnerabilities before they are expl
oited\, and act as individuals or ad hoc teams under fire.&nbsp\;\nLow-lig
ht training\, both with visible light and night vision\, is available with
prior coordination.\nWhat will the student learn?\n\nIntroduction to terr
ain evaluation related to possible ambush.\nThreat assessment based on env
ironmental concerns\nMovement and movement techniques in and through rough
terrain.\nCommunication skills based on the environment.\nReact to Contac
 t &amp\; Counter- Ambush drills.\nTactical threat engagement techniques.\n
Introduction to Patrolling techniques for ambush mindset.\nEmployment of P
atrol Rifle for Applied Marksmanship (Dry Fire).\nReport writing &amp\; co
 urtroom testimony for ambush incidents
.\n\nWhat will the student be requi
red to do?\n\nDemonstrate an understanding of maneuver principles (classro
om and practicals on terrain).\nAssess risks and threat cues by both perso
ns and natural terrain.\nDemonstrate proficiency in coordinating movements
with assigned communications equipment.\nPhysically move using tactical i
ndividual movement techniques situations.\nDisplay proficiency in dry fire
rifle shooting from field positions while standing\, supported\, kneeling
 \, and prone.\n\nCourse Breakdown\nTrain Hard * Train to Win\nCourse Inten
sity The content and pace of this course will be challenging for most stud
ents. Some content may shock those with a more sensitive conscience.\nPhys
ically Demanding This course combines lectures\, tabletop drills\, and out
door practical applications. The outdoor practicals require physical exert
ion while making fast movements across natural terrain. Students are requi
red to run to their chosen cover/concealment location while being pushed m
entally and physically. Outdoor training will take place even in inclement
weather.\nMentally Challenging The student will be challenged mentally to
conduct rapid assessments of the environment and people while being requi
red to move and remain physically tactical. This will be very challenging
for some students who lack shooting skills while moving.\nCore BuildingThe
y will leave with a superior skill set to identify potential threat indica
tors\, react to the threat\, and take back the tactical initiative to stop
the threat and protect the public and each other! This revised mental and
physical skill set gives the officer a tactical approach to their call re
sponses. If the officer applies his newly learned tactics to his tour of d
uty\, he will be a better lead for his shift and agency.\n\nStudent Take A
way\n\n A tactical skill set needed for warrant service and unknown risk c
alls in rural terrain. \n Tactics\, if implemented\, will position officer
s for less risk of ambush when responding to calls in rural settings. \n P
roven techniques to tactically counter ambush attempts and techniques to e
ngage active shooter incidents with a defeat-the-threat mindset. \n Master
y of basic drills for individuals &amp\; teams necessary for mental and ph
ysical survival in an intermediate-range engagement. \n\nCourse Accreditat
ion/Certification/Completion\n\nThe student will receive a certificate of
course completion and proficiency upon request. \n\nCourse Hours\n\n(1 day
 ) 8-hour course.\nNo Re-certification is required.\n\nRequired Course Equi
pment\nAttending students will need to be enrolled individually and online
.&nbsp\; The student must provide proof of employment by credentials\, wor
k-verified email\, or authorization from their agency’s training coordinat
or.&nbsp\; All students must be on duty and not forced to attend the train
ing course.&nbsp\; Students will be required to complete several liability
waivers.\nStudents are required to bring the following equipment with the
m to class.\n\nDuty Weapon. &nbsp\;Duty positioning of their weapon\, eith
er full belt or side holster\, must be what they wear daily. &nbsp\;This t
raining is for how they encounter assailants daily\, so uniform of the day
(weapon placement only) is required. &nbsp\;\nPatrol carbine/ rifles\nInd
ividual First Aid Kit/tourniquet.\nDress for outdoor tactical training in
comfortable clothing that will get dirty and possibly damaged&nbsp\;\nOSHA
-approved Eye and ear protection\,if Simms is being used during this cours
 e of instruction. &nbsp\;&nbsp\;\n\n**No live weapons\, chemical agents\,
or intermediate weapons are allowed in the training area before inspection
and clearance by the range safety instructor** https://www.protraininc.co
