Ambush assaults on law en forcement have escalated by over 165% since 2016. \; We have to teach our officers to recognize and overcome these threats. \; The Police Co unter Ambush Assault Course will challenge officers through force-on-force scenarios to overcome threats while deploying from a patrol vehicle\, whi le seated inside a patrol vehicle\, and while in close-quarters scenarios with other potential threats. \; We have to be prepared to overcome an d dominate these ambushes. \; This course will dramatically increase t he officer’s ability to win the assault and return home safely to their fa mily.\nWhat will the student learn?\n\nEnvironment and bystander awareness (terrain concerns and escape avenues)\, controlling space.\nHow to escape from Ambush Positions.\nProper placement of violator(s) and backup units. \nCase law pertinent to police use of force vehicle stops.\n\nWhat will th e student be required to do?\n\nMake shoot or don’t shoot decisions while overcoming fatigue and a stressful training atmosphere.\nFight through bei ng attacked by single and multiple opponents in a dynamic and realistic sc enario for police officers.\nIn dynamic and realistic scenario-based train ing\, officers will be subjected to fighting and shooting airsoft force-on -force drills.\nThink outside the box and consider multiple threats at one time. \; This training method increases the real-world scenario of co ntinually evolving high-stress situations.\nAccurately examine their minds et and identify areas where they have begun to lose ground physically and psychologically. \; They will be pushed to their mental and physical l imits.\nSuccessfully address threat(s)\, gain compliance or control\, and maintain situational awareness and mental clarity during these practical e xams.\nThis course is a hands-on outdoor activity to keep the student enga ged and interested in learning concepts to enhance their ability to identi fy the criminal element\, quickly identify it\, and be prepared if a letha l force encounter occurs.\n\nCourse Breakdown\nTrain Hard * Train to Win\n Course Intensity This course is very high-level intensity and will challen ge the student to consider their personal\, physical\, and psychological v ulnerability and then adapt to and overcome any adversity or threat they a re approaching.\nPhysically DemandingPolice Counter Ambush is a tactical c ourse requiring high levels of physical exertion. \; This course will leave you dirty\, exhausted\, and ultimately fired up about what you just completed!\nMentally Challenging This course will challenge the student to fight physically and mentally without quitting during scenarios that may feel too intense or overwhelming. \; They will use techniques and ment al mindsets to expand their understanding of tactical counters to life-thr eatening situations.\nCore Building\nIf implemented as instructed\, the st udent will be given proven techniques to counter assaults that mentally an d physically prepare them for victory in battle.\n\nStudent Take Away\n\nA greater understanding of strategies and tactics to counter potential ambu sh assaults.\nDevelop core techniques to identify\, improve\, and master t actical skills\, leaving the officer mentally and physically prepared to c ounter ambush assault situations.\nProven survival training that instills a tactical mindset and fundamentals into a realistic and dynamic course fo r successfully applying these strategies to real-world police encounters. \n\nCourse Accreditation/Certification/Completion\n\nThe student will rece ive a course completion certificate after successfully completing the clas s. \n\nCourse Hours\n\n(1 day) 7-hour course.\nNo Re-certification is requ ired.\n\nRequired Course Equipment\nAttending students will need to be enr olled individually and online. \; The student must provide proof of em ployment by credentials\, work-verified email\, or authorization from thei r agency’s training coordinator. \; All students must be on duty and n ot forced to attend the training course. \;
