 g the survival tactics of both themselves and their probationary officers.
 \nWhat will the student learn?\nBe aware of the environment and bystanders
 \, including considerations of terrain and escape routes\, while controlli
 ng the space around you.\n&nbsp\;\n\n\nLearn strategies for escaping from 
 ambush positions individually and with multiple officers.\n\n\nUnderstand 
 how to differentiate between a low-risk and an unknown-risk traffic stop.

 \n\n\n\n\nUpon successful completion of Days 1 and 2\, STOPS Field Trainin
 g Officers will attain certification in the Basic STOPS course.\nDay 3 wil
 l be STOPS Field Training Officer training\, covering both classroom instr
 uction and practical exercises.\n\n\n\n\n\nCourse Hours\n\n\n\n\n\n(3 days
 ) - 21 hours of training.\nNo recertification is required.\n\n\n\n\n\nRequ
 ired Course Equipment\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAttending students will need to be&nbsp
 \;enrolled individually and online. The student must provide proof of empl
 oyment by credentials\, work-verified email\, or authorization from their 
 agency’s training coordinator. All students must be on dutyand not forced 
 to attend the training course. Students will be required to complete sever
 al liability waivers.\n&nbsp\;\nStudents are required to bring the followi
 ng equipment with them to class:\n&nbsp\;\n\n\nDepartment-issued or approv
 ed bulletproof vest that is valid.\n&nbsp\;\n\n\nOSHA approved eye and ear
  protection.\n\n\nDuty positioning of their weapon (full belt or side hols
 ter) as worn daily.\n\n\nNo live weapons\, chemical agents\, or intermedia
 te weapons are allowed in the training area before inspection and cleared
