Ron Hantz
is a Patrol Sergeant with the Mishawaka IN Police Department.
Ron has been a law enforcement officer since 1993. Ron has attended over 4,500 hours of advanced police training in numerous topics. Ron is certified field training officer, and currently is the Field Training Unit Manager for the Mishawaka Police Department.
Ron has been certified as a Master Strategies and Tactics of Patrol Stops (STOPS) Instructor- one of only four in the United States.
As of 2010, 6,000 total students have been trained from nearly every state in the country By ron. Officers trained include Federal Agents, State Police Troopers, Dignitary Protection Officers, City, Town, County Police, and Special Agents from several Federal Railroad Police agencies.
Ron has advanced training and experience in SWAT operations, crash investigations, as well as being a Drug Recognition Expert. Ron has been a martial arts student since 1994, in several disciplines of martial arts. Ron has instructed more then 2500 police officers in the State of Indiana. Ron is totally committed to preparing officers to survive the streets. Ron is a certified Instructor Generalist and Physical Tactics Instructor through the Indiana Law Enforcement Training Board. Ron is currently a member of the ST. Joseph County Metro Fatal Alcohol Crash Team as a Drug Recognition Expert.

Robert H. Black
ROBERT H. BLACK has been a career law enforcement officer for over 40 years, graduating from the 11th Basic Session of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, 1971.
Retired from the Valparaiso Police Department as Assistant Chief after twenty (20) years of service, he worked for sixteen (16) years as a patrol officer, eighteen (18) years as a training officer, trained and commanded the tactical unit, and developed many departmental programs during his career.
He has received numerous awards for distinguished service and was appointed the Indiana Assistant Director for the Justice System Training Association. Certified as a Master Instructor, he has provided specialized training to private and public sector organizations, universities, law enforcement and the military in the areas of physical tactics, firearms and physical fitness.
Mr. Black has studied various martial arts for over three decades and is a Yondan in Isshinryu karatedo. He is currently the Director of Physical Tactics with the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy at Plainfield, Indiana.
Sgt. Randy Duhamell
is a 13 year veteran of the Butler City Police Department.
He serves as Detective Sergeant and oversees investigations. Randy has more than 30 years martial arts experience including National Honors for Competition and Training. He was the former Indiana Assistant Director of Kickboxing for the PKC for ten years, covering the northern Indiana district.
In 1990-91 he was awarded the Professional Karate Commissions "Full Contact Trainer of the Year Award", and in 1996-97 he placed in the "TOP TEN" in North America by placing 7th in Masters Fighting Division for the PKC.
He is a Master Ranked Martial Arts instructor whom has served as an ILEA Certified Psychomotor Skills Instructor since 1991. He was a certified PPCT instructor for more than 12 years. A fight show promoter, announcer and trainer he has trained fighters in Mixed Martial Arts and Kickboxing for the last fifteen years.
He had worked for more than four years with the legendary Dan "the Beast" Severn in MMA Fighting events. Randy has developed the DPTS training system for police officers, body guards and security personnel.
- 39 years of Martial arts experience including Tae Kwon Do, Gung Fu, Judo Kickboxing, JuJitsu, American Free Style Karate and Mixed Martial Arts.
- 1989-2009: 20 years experience in martial arts fighting events, as trainer, corner man, matchmaker, announcer, promoter and official’s supervisor. During this time he assisted with coordinating and officiating over 200 martial arts events in Indiana, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois and Georgia.

Assistant Chief Michael Samp
Investigations Division, Mishawaka Police Department has been in law enforcement for thirty-three years.
Chief Samp has spent over twenty years in the field of Criminal Investigation, was a founding member and spent six years in the Special Crimes Unit of Saint Joseph County Indiana now called Metro Homicide. He has taught Criminal Investigation at Ivy Tech College and has also lectured various police and fire departments in the area of crime scene preservation.
Chief Samp has a Bachelor of Science Degree through Bethel College, Mishawaka Indiana and has attended North Western University in Chicago Illinois for Criminal Profiling.
