Pressure Point Control Tactics (PPCT) Workshop
Those attending this course will be instructed in the Use of Force Continuum adopted by Law Enforcement agencies worldwide. The officer will be required to be fluent in suspect resistance and the appropriate control levels as listed in the Use of Force Continuum. This course will teach various types of submission holds, escort positions, arm bars, joint locks, takedown maneuvers, strikes, kicks, and handcuffing techniques.
Student will become fluent in the application of numerous pressure points on the human body. Students who attend this training will learn to gain control through the proper use of pressure point techniques. Students attending this course will have to demonstrate an understanding of the topics covered, as well as demonstrate how each technique covered is to be applied. In addition to a written exam, students will also have a practical exam that must be successfully completed for certification.
This is a mentally and physically demanding course, which will push each student to their limit. Only students committed to "giving everything to survive mindsets" should attend. Students will be required to fully participate, and demonstrate a "never give up" attitude in order to complete the course of instruction.
This course will be modified to the level of expertise in the audience and can be adapted in the classroom for multiple levels of experience and understanding.
Training Goals and Objectives
The goal of the training program is to prepare and condition the individual officer to safely apply subject control, containment and threat neutralization techniques in both the patrol and tactical environments. Additionally, the course will concentrate on the application of alternative force application tools (less lethal) and impact weapons. Further, the program will focus on developing an understanding of use of force, techniques to gain subject compliance, and to safely control individuals.
